Carol Jean passed away surrounded by family at HCMC on January 15th, 2025 at the age of 83. Her service is January 22nd at Christ Our Light Church804 -7th Ave S, Princeton, MN. Visitation is 1 hr before the Mass of Christian burial that starts at 11:00. A luncheon will immediately follow the service and burial is at Forest Lawn Cemetery in St Paul.
Carol Jean was born to Robert and Sophie (Tocko) Skaar on June 1st 1941 in St Paul. She graduated from Fairbault School for the deaf, class of 1960. She married Ronald Joyce on September 8, 1962 in St Paul which later ended in divorce. She married Darwin Teeters on September 22, 1984 in St. Paul. Due to this union Carol’s love of donuts/desserts only magnified since Darwin was a baker by trade and would bring them home often. She enjoyed traveling, watching her soap operas, sewing, puzzles, gardening, Christmas, Snowmen and freshly fallen snow. She loved animals, had many pets (dogs and cats) throughout her life and enjoyed feeding the squirrels (to the chagrin of the staff at Guardian Angels). For many years, her and a group of deaf friends gathered often to play Mexican dominos. She liked to garden, especially when it came to her flowers. Most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her daughter Mary Jo, son Daniel, grandchildren Heather (Trevor) Roberts, Courtney (Darryl) Janke, Joey Joyce, Brianna DeBill, Kevin (Elyse) Joyce, Gianna Gordon, Landon Joyce, Alexa Joyce. Great Grandchildren Braelyn, Dylan, James, Jasper, Alannah, Owen, Gannon, brothers Richard and Donald (Nancy) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by parents Robert and Sophie, Sons James and Thomas.
