Brian David Metzler

Brian David Metzler was born on May 12, 1980, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Karl and Ruth Metzler.  After graduating from homeschool, Brian got a job with a construction company framing houses.  After working with that company for several years, he started his own construction business in 2002.  He built two spec homes before the housing industry declined.  After that, he began doing more general contractor work.  He also designed his own dream home and was in the process of building it himself in his spare time.  Although he endured much pain through the years as a result of several injuries and medical issues which made construction work more difficult for him, he was passionate about continuing to do as much construction work as he could because that is what he enjoyed doing. On April 5, 2023, he was working on a job when he suffered an aortic dissection and passed away unexpectedly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Betty Dittberner and Killian and Evelyn Metzler. 

He is survived by his parents, Karl and Ruth; his brother, Brent (Amanda); two sisters, Katrina and Kristina; one niece, Madeline; two nephews, Adrien and Cameron; and other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River, MN. Burial at Hanover City Cemetery in Hanover, MN.
