Let us rejoice this day for heaven has received unto itself this day, its faithful servant, Betty. A gift to us for a short while, but now back with the Lord in perfect peace and with all the understanding she so fervently sought after. With unconditional Love from her first breath till her last for every person she encountered is her legacy, a true warrior! May her fragile body rest in peace as she dances with her Lord and Savior Jesus!!
Betty passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at her residence in Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents John L. and Mildred (Sewell) Chase; sister Gerri Johnson; and first husband Martin M. Holum. Surviving are her husband Lance L. Lauer; children Marty (Heather) Holum, Lisa (Robert) Honney, Joshua Lauer, and Chelsie (Sonny) Zahn; grandchildren Jessica Holum, Chase Holum, Wyatt Beyerl, and Walker Beyerl; several great-grandchildren; brother John “Shorty” (Renee) Chase; numerous nieces and nephews that were considered daughters, and sons; and many friends. Dear to Betty’s heart was birdwatching from her home on the lake, and her love for God. Betty’s goal in life was to make sure that everyone she met knew and felt the unconditional love of the Lord. Her teachings and classes over the years touched thousands with this desire from the Lord, to choose love first!
