August Lee Smith

August Lee Smith, age 3 of Zimmerman, passed away peacefully with his family by his side from Leigh’s Syndrome on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born on April 3, 2020.

During August’s short life, he experienced so much love from his family and friends. He greatly enjoyed the thrill of opening and closing doors. He also liked dinosaurs, aquariums, bubbles, and watching football with his dad. He especially loved his dog, Tyson, and giggled when his mom, dad and little brother would play catch.

He was the most happy and laid back little boy, giving the most love to everyone around him.

He is survived by his parents, Bre Cannon and Jaicee Smith; little brother, Leo; grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins; and many other loving family and friends.

A celebration of August’s life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River, MN. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at Elk River Lutheran Church, Elk River, MN.
