Age 87, formerly of Granite Falls and Glencoe, MN passed away in Elk River, MN on April 6, 2022.
Arlene Lillian Sell was born on July 2, 1934, to Melvin and Esther (Neibuhr) Sell in Gibbon, Minnesota. Arlene graduated from Glencoe High School class of 1952. Arlene married Leo R. Sebring on September 7, 1957 in Glencoe, Minnesota by Pastor H.A. Bode. To this union, three daughters were born. After 55 years of marriage, Leo passed away on May 20, 2013.
Arlene was baptized on July 22, 1934, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon, Minnesota by Pastor Henry Boettcher. Arlene was confirmed March 21, 1948 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota by Pastor Alfred Streyfert. Her memory verse was Psalm 27.1, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Arlene was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Granite Falls, Minnesota.
Grateful for having shared Arlene’s life are her children: Cynthia (Stan) Wibben, Catherine (Thomas) Hoernemann, and Susan Evans; grandchildren: Daniel (Angela) Wibben, Derek (Adrianna) Wibben, Jeffrey (Jessica) Hoernemann, Jared Hoernemann, Paige Evans and Sydney Evans; great-grandchildren: Lachlan Wibben and Cameron Wibben. Siblings: Ron Sell, Jean McGuire, Sharon (Charles) Czycalla, Ginette Schwarze; Sisters-in-law: Annette (James) McConnell and Jackie (Werner) Knuth; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Arlene in death are her parents Melvin and Esther Sell; husband Leo Sebring; Grandson: Brent Wibben; Sisters-in-law: Marilyn Sell, Thaisia Sebring; Brothers-in-law: Dennis McGuire, Rodney Schwarze, Don Sebring and Jerry Sebring; Nephew: Phillip Sebring.
Memorials in Arlene’s name may be directed to St Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls or the Ronald McDonald House Charities (www.rmhc.org).
A Celebration of Arlene's life will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St, Elk River.
Private family interment will be at a later date at Doncaster Cemetery in Granite Falls, MN.
