Ardyce "Ardy" Skoglund Obituary

Ardyce Eileen Skoglund (Bushey), affectionately known as Ardy, age 89, passed away on June 14, 2026, at Guardian Angels Memory Care.

Ardy was born on July 2, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Roger and Mabel (Larson) Bushey.

She graduated from Columbia Heights High School and went on to work for Unisys. During her career, she was proud to have contributed to the development of computer boards that supported the technology used in the Apollo Space Program, helping pave the way for the first man to walk on the Moon.

On March 28th, 1980, she married Lowell Skoglund. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, and community.

Ardy enjoyed fishing, spending time at the lake, and making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved going for walks and was a wealth of knowledge, having once aspired to become a librarian. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a creative spirit, enjoying custom jewelry making, floral arranging, garage sales, auctions, and collecting an assortment of cherished knick-knacks.

Ardy also had a passion for true crime and often joked that she knew every trick in the book and how to make someone disappear. She was especially known for her quick wit, love of cribbage, and ability to make others laugh. Family and friends will remember her kind and calm demeanor, her willingness to help anyone in need, and her deep love for children. Ardy enjoyed being a foster grandparent at the ACGC Schools where she and her husband would go into the classrooms to work with the children. She was also a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings and could often be found cheering on local youth and high school sports teams. The athletes appreciated hearing encouragement from one of their most loyal supporters.

She is survived by her children, Becky Kasper, Rick (Jill) Burtson, and Kathy Berg; seven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Mabel Bushey; her husband, Lowell Skoglund; her son, Jerry Burtson; her sisters, Karen and Deb; and many other loved ones who now welcome her with open arms and will cherish their reunion for eternity.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 with lunch following at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River, MN. Interment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, MN at 2:15 PM.
