Aoulene Hauschulz Obituary

A memorial service will be held at Dare’s Funeral Home in Elk River, MN on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:45 AM for Aoulene Marie Hauschulz, age 79, of Elk River, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM. Luncheon will be after the service. Aoulene passed away following a 16-month trial with pancreatic cancer that was preceded by two battles with breast cancer in the past. Bruce and Aoulene will be laid to rest at All Nations Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Lake, ND on a later date.

Aoulene was born on May 4, 1946, in Rolla, ND to Harold and Agnes (Lawler) Johnson of Rock Lake, ND. She married the love of her life (Harold) Bruce Hauschulz on March 7th, 1964, in Rock Lake, ND, and they had three daughters, Kristine, Robin, and Michele.

Aoulene and Bruce lived in Grand Forks and Bismark, ND, early on before settling in Elk River, MN. She was very active at Central Lutheran Church teaching Sunday school, confirmation, and serving on the wedding and funeral committees until 2004 when she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. In addition, she volunteered for many years with multiple charities in the Elk River community.

Aoulene worked part-time at the Elk River Federal Credit Union seeing it through multiple changes until it became Spire CU (now Blaze). She truly enjoyed all the people she met and worked with. She also enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, reading, crafts, gardening, and puzzling, and was thrilled to share books and puzzles with friends and family. She will be remembered for her steadfast generosity, inherent kindness, love of all children, and especially for her strength, both physical and in character. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Aoulene is survived by her loving children, Kris (Tony) Jackson, Robin (Bob) Eastman, Michele (Kevin) McCormick; grandchildren, Nick, Whitney, Brendon, Ali, Ben, Cal, Margo, Mylie, Alayna, and Keagan; great-granddaughters, Grace and Ellie; brothers Harley Johnson and Dan (Diane) Johnson; treasured caregiver Jennifer Hickman; and many cherished family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Bruce; parents; and sister-in-law Martha Johnson.

Memorials are preferred to CAER (Community Aid Elk River), Elk River Friends of the Library or, your local food pantry/library.

The family wishes to thank the staff of both HomeInstead Andover and Hospice of the Midwest.
