Annette (Libor) Thielen, age 78 of Zimmerman, passed away on January 9, 2019. Annette was born on July 4th, 1940 as one of twin daughters to Peter and Mary (Kittock) Libor in Delano, MN. She and her sixteen siblings were raised on a farm where she developed a love of vegetable and flower gardening. She married Larry W. Thielen on June 11, 1966 in Delano. They moved to Zimmerman where they worked and raised their family.
In addition to her husband, Annette is survived by her children, Donald (Susan) Thielen, Dennis (Ann) Thielen, Alicia Thielen and Julie (Bryan) Hanson; grand children, Danielle, Devyn, Hailey, Zach, Morgan and Aaron; and sister, Mary (Mike) Dongoski. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward, Arthur, Lawrence, Steve, George, Gerald, Peter and Paul; sisters, Clementine, Elizabeth, Marion, Genevieve, Delores, Ann (twin) and Rosella.
Annette spent 13 years working at Federal Cartridge before retiring. In addition to gardening, she also had a gift of music which she shared by serving as organist and music coordinator at St. Pius X Church in Zimmerman. She sang at weddings and funerals and volunteered at numerous church functions. She had a special affinity for serving at the Hearing Impaired Mass. Annette especially enjoyed canning her famous dill pickles, crocheting, quilting, fishing and camping. Of all these hobbies, her favorite pastime was spent loving and nurturing her grandchildren. Her legacy will be remembered by many friends and family.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM with a prayer service at 6PM on Monday, January 14 at Dares Funeral Home, 805 Main St, Elk River. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 25909 4th St W in Zimmerman. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Cemetery in Zimmerman.
