Anna Rose (Barnier) DeMars

Age 101, of Elk River.  Passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 at Guardian Angels Care Center.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Carol Barthel; parents, Joseph and Stella (Bourgeois) Barnier; 5 sisters and 10 brothers.

Anna lived in the Elk River/Otsego area all of her long life.  Faithful member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.  Known for her strong work ethic, unwavering faith, and her wonderful cooking and baking.  She was a beacon of strength and faith to family and friends.  Her legacy will live on.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Lila) DeMars, Patricia Johnson, and Judy (Rod) Peterson; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law.

Special gratitude to Guardian Angels Senior Services and Triniti Hospice for many years of compassionate care.

Mass of Christian burial at 10:30AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Church of St. Andrew, 566-4th St, Elk River, with visitation starting at 9:30AM.

Interment St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Elk River.
