Richard C. Mueller

Richard Clarence Mueller of Elk River, MN died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home.

Richard was born February 6th, 1943 in Mahnomen, MN to Elizabeth (Illies) and John Mueller.

He was the 13th of 14 children. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic School and was a 1961

graduate from Mahnomen High School. Richard worked at the Corner Drug Store in Mahnomen

while in high school and college. He graduated from NDSU School of Pharmacy in the fall of

1965. Following graduation, he joined Walgreens as a pharmacist and store manager until he

retired in 2004.

On October 24th, 1964, Richard was united in marriage to Linda LaVoy. Together they built a

life they loved filled with wonderful colleagues, friends, and family. Especially dear to Richard

were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard treasured being with his

many relatives at family reunions. He enjoyed wrestling, football, boating, cards and dice,

making sausage, traveling and visiting.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda, sons, Jeffrey, Michael (Chelle), Patrick (Kathy), and

daughter Monica (David); grandchildren, Melissa (Dan), Sandra (Mike), Ashley (Chandler),

Brittany, Austin, Madison, Joey and great-grandchildren, Ian, Mason, Kyle, Ryan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Sue (Jeff), siblings: Bernard, Cyril, Sr.

Eleanor, Christina, Helen, Theresa, Dorothy, John, and Vernon; brothers-in-law Frank Pavlik,

Ray Runger, Dick LaVoy, Don Lavoy, sisters-in-law: Audrey LaVoy, Whitey LaVoy, Sharon

(Vernon) Mueller, and parent-in-law, Ruby and Howard LaVoy.
