Mary Catherine (Steinhagen) Eidem

Mary Catherine (Kay) Eidem, age 93, of Elk River passed away peacefully Thursday, August 29th, 2019.

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Steinhagen; sisters, Fran and Louise; loving husband of 54 years, Jerry; son, Greg; and daughter, Cathy. Survived by children, Mary, Connie, Lauren, Beth, Larry, Chuck, Carol, Amy, Paul, Mike, and Jerry and their spouses; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Kay grew up in North Minneapolis, graduated from North H.S. and then attended St. Kates where she became a Registered Nurse. As a mother, blessed with 13 children, she still had her own hobbies. She was a church organist with a strong Catholic Faith. She had a passion for quilting, sewing, music, camping, book reading, playing piano, and loved her coffee cup filled with spirits.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 566 4th Street NW – Elk River, on Friday, September 06 at 12:30pm with a visitation one hour prior.
