George W. Murphy

Murphy, George W. age 88, of Elk River passed away peacefully June 14, 2019.

Preceded in death by his wife Donna Murphy (Olson) and parents, George and Wilhelmina Murphy; sisters, Dorothea Loegering, Eileen Murphy and Bernice Lemanski.

He will be remembered by daughter Christine (Steven) Derner; sons, Timothy (Marcia) Murphy and Thomas (Michelle) Murphy; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

George loved “everything outdoors” and enjoyed watching the Twins, Vikings and the Wild. He retired in 1996 from Cornelius in Anoka as a Design Engineer Manager.

An evening visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, June 23rd at Dare's Funeral Home (805 Main Street NW, Elk River). A celebration of life service will be held at 11am Monday, June 24th at Central Lutheran Church (1103 School Street, Elk River) with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment Orono Cemetery. Lunch will follow at church. Memorials made to the American Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers, are appreciated. Arr. Dare’s Funeral Home 763-441-1212
