Wagner, (Carr) Ardis Jean 90, of Elk River, died Sat., March 9. Born on April 7, 1928 in Baker, MN. Married Feb. 14, 1947, resided in Anoka for 49 yrs and Elk River for 19. Ardis was last employed as a bookkeeper at Colburn Hilliard's in Anoka. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where she was very active in LWML, altar guild, multiple bible studies, braille work, making quilts for missions, taught Sunday school and volunteered wherever needed. Ardis also volunteered at the Bethesda Thrift Store for 20 years.
She enjoyed monthly bridge club gatherings and was a founding member of the group. In the early years in Anoka, she was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She and Les loved to dance and for awhile were members of the Coon-oka Squares. Ardis was an incredible seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts. She loved to travel and explore new areas of the country.
Ardis was a loving, nurturing mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cared deeply for all.
Survived by children; Joy (Bernard) Wilkinson, Carol Vevea, Jill (Jeffrey) Oschwald, Jon (Barb) Wagner, Sherie Wagner; grandchildren, Matthew, Erik (Romy), Mark (Courtney), Scott (Christina), Nathan, Jacob, Zachary (Lynn), Heather (Kyle), Peter (Becca), Kirsten (William), Jessica, Bridgette (Travis), Angie, Bobby, Sarah, Travis and Hannah; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by Parents, Carl and Anna (Lemke) Carr; siblings George, Virgil and Helen. Leslie F. Wagner (husband); Steve Vevea (son-in-law); Joe Knafla (grandson).
Funeral service on Monday, March 25, 2019 11 AM at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church 700 Western St. in Anoka, MN. visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour or LWML.
